About OneChild
OneChild is a global child sponsorship organization dedicated to supporting children and communities in need across 22 countries. Their work depends on powerful storytelling — sharing real photos, videos, and personal stories that connect donors and supporters to the lives they help change.
With more than 30,000 creative assets in circulation, managing, organizing, and protecting this content is critical to ensuring their message is delivered clearly, consistently, and responsibly.
The challenge:
Before moving to Stockpress, OneChild relied on a leading enterprise Digital Asset Management platform. While the system was capable, it came with high costs and a long list of features that weren’t relevant to their day-to-day work.
As a nonprofit, stewarding resources responsibly is essential. The team wanted a DAM that balanced affordability, security, and usability — without sacrificing the functionality they relied on. However, Bonnie anticipated that moving to a lower-cost platform might mean settling for a “bare-bones” solution.
The solution:
Stockpress offered OneChild a refreshing alternative — a powerful, flexible DAM platform that delivered nearly all the functionality they were used to, at a fraction of the cost.
During onboarding, Bonnie worked closely with the Stockpress team to evaluate the platform’s capabilities, security, and long-term stability. Both creative and IT stakeholders were confident in the solution, making the transition smooth and well-supported.
Beyond pricing, the hands-on support and nonprofit discount reinforced Stockpress’s commitment to helping mission-driven organizations succeed.
“What a refreshing surprise to discover Stockpress. I was amazed to find that it offered nearly all the functionality we were used to — at a fraction of the cost.”

Introduction
When you work for a global nonprofit, every dollar matters. Every hour matters. And every photo, video, and story plays a role in helping supporters connect with the people they’re trying to help.
For Bonnie Wellensiek, Creative Content Manager at OneChild, that responsibility is felt every day. She manages more than 30,000 creative assets from 22 countries, helping her organization share real stories from the field with clarity, care, and consistency.
In this conversation, Bonnie shares how her team transitioned from an expensive enterprise DAM to Stockpress — and why the experience restored her confidence in digital asset management for nonprofits.
“Our work depends on being able to find and use our content quickly.”
Veronica (Stockpress): Bonnie, can you tell us about your role and the scale of content you manage?
Bonnie: As the Creative Content Manager for OneChild, I manage over 30,000 creative assets — primarily photos, stories, and videos — from the 22 countries where we serve children. That content is essential to our mission. It has to be organized, protected, and easy to access.
“We were paying for features we didn’t use.”
Veronica: What was your digital asset management setup like before Stockpress?
Bonnie: We were using one of the leading enterprise DAM platforms. It worked, but we were paying for a lot of features we didn’t actually need. For a nonprofit, that’s hard to justify. We’re always thinking about stewardship — making sure resources are going where they’ll benefit children the most.
“I assumed we’d have to settle for something basic.”
Veronica: What were your expectations when you began looking for a new DAM?
Bonnie: I expected we’d have to compromise. I thought we’d end up with something very bare-bones — less customization, fewer tools, and less flexibility. Then we found Stockpress. It was a refreshing surprise.
“It offered nearly everything we were used to — at a fraction of the cost.”
Veronica: What stood out during your first conversations with Stockpress?
Bonnie: In my first meeting with Jessica, I asked a lot of questions. I was surprised to learn that Stockpress offered nearly all the functionality we were used to — at a fraction of the cost. Their nonprofit discount also showed a real commitment to helping organizations like ours.
“Our IT team needed to feel confident too.”
Veronica: How did your internal teams respond to the potential switch?
Bonnie: Our IT team was involved early. They met with Stockpress and reviewed the platform’s stability and security. They felt confident in the solution, which was really important for us. Once both creative and IT were aligned, making the switch felt much easier.
“The personal support was phenomenal.”
Veronica: Support seems to be a big theme in your experience. Can you talk about that?
Bonnie: From the very beginning, the support was phenomenal. Our previous provider wanted to charge thousands of dollars just to download our existing assets. But the Stockpress team manually helped us transfer everything — at no cost.
The personal support has been consistently fast and friendly. Whenever I have questions, I can email or use in-app chat and get a response from a real person — usually in under an hour. That’s rare in tech today.
“I built our DAM myself — and it just worked.”
Veronica: How was the setup process for you?
Bonnie: It was surprisingly easy. On my own, I was able to create a customized, branded DAM that looks professional and works the way our team searches for content. A couple of months in, users weren’t struggling with it. We didn’t have complaints or confusion.
“They keep improving — and they listen.”
Veronica: How important is ongoing product development for you?
Bonnie: It’s very important. In the short time I’ve worked with Stockpress, they’ve rolled out several new features and seem very committed to customer feedback. It doesn’t feel like a static tool. It feels like a partnership.
“There aren’t many companies I enthusiastically endorse.”
Veronica: Would you recommend Stockpress to other nonprofits?
Bonnie: Yes — and I already have. There aren’t many companies I can enthusiastically endorse, but Stockpress is definitely one.
It’s a great platform for small to mid-sized organizations and nonprofits with one to five creative teams. Whether you’re new to digital asset management or transitioning from something expensive, it’s functional, flexible, and customizable.
I’ve already recommended it to a friend at another nonprofit — and they chose Stockpress too.
What This Means for Nonprofits Considering Digital Asset Management
Bonnie’s experience reflects a challenge many nonprofits face:
- Enterprise DAMs are powerful, but expensive
- Many features go unused
- Support is often limited
- Migration costs can be prohibitive
- Customization requires consultants
For OneChild, Stockpress offered a different model:
- Affordable pricing
- Nonprofit-friendly discounts
- Hands-on onboarding
- Real human support
- Flexible customization
- Continuous improvement
Most importantly, it allowed Bonnie’s team to focus less on managing software and more on telling meaningful stories.
“It helps us steward our resources wisely.”
When asked to summarize her experience, Bonnie returns to the principle that guided the entire decision: stewardship.
Using resources responsibly. Supporting the mission. Choosing tools that serve people, not the other way around.
For OneChild, Stockpress became more than a DAM. It became a platform they could trust.
“Stockpress helps us steward our resources wisely — without sacrificing functionality.”
