Stockpress guided setup

Thanks for choosing Stockpress. Now, let’s get you set up your way! Every team works differently, so we’ve created two guided paths to help you hit the ground running with Stockpress.

Before we start, have you done the most important thing in your workspace? Have you made it feel like home by adding your branding? If you haven’t, you can do this by going to your workspace settings.

Let’s get started!

Once you’ve made your workspace feel like home, it’s time to choose the path that feels most natural for getting your workspace singing:

  • Path 1 – File-first: Collections & Custom Tag Categories and Tags → ideal if you want to get content into Stockpress right away and start organizing your library.
  • Path 2 – User-first: Roles, Users & Teams → perfect if your priority is setting people up and defining how they’ll work together.

In setting your workspace up, the best piece of advice we can give you is “get into the minds of your users”, how do they search, what are they looking for, and what are the fundamentals they need for Stockpress to be useful to them.

Importantly, though – whichever path you choose, you’ll end up in the same place: a workspace your whole team will love using.

Path 1: File-first — Collections & Custom Tag Categories and Tags

Sometimes the fastest way to see value in Stockpress is to start where the files live. In this path, you’ll upload or import your content, build Collections that mirror how your team works, and add tags that make finding files effortless.

The outcome? A ready-to-use content hub where assets are neatly grouped, searchable, and shareable from day one.

This approach is great if you want to give your team instant access to what they need while you fine-tune roles and permissions later. And don’t worry—it’s quick, intuitive, and designed so anyone can pick it up without training.

File-level features and more…

  • Versions, comments, and the image editor keep every asset ready to use.
  • Guest Upload pages let partners drop files directly into the right Collection.

Path 2 – User-first: Roles, Users & Teams

If you’d rather set the stage before content starts flowing in, this path is for you. You’ll shape how your workspace looks, define the rules for access and sharing, and invite your team with the right roles from the beginning.

The outcome? Clear guardrails that make managing content easy as usage grows. This approach is especially helpful if your files include sensitive material or if you’re coordinating across multiple departments or clients. It doesn’t take long to set up, and once you’re done, you’ll have peace of mind knowing the right people have the right access.
