Comments and Annotations FAQs

  • Who can see and reply to comments and annotations?

Anyone with access to the file can see all annotations and comments. The file owner and anyone in shared Collections can leave new annotations, reply to existing ones, and resolve comments. You can control file access through permissions to limit who can view and comment.

  • Can I turn off notifications for specific files?

Yes. Click the bell icon at the top of the comments panel for any file to mute or unmute notifications for just that file. You can also adjust your global notification preferences in your user settings to control email and in-app notifications across all files.

  • How do video annotations work?

Pause the video at any moment, click the annotate button, then click and drag on the video frame. Your annotation is anchored to that exact timestamp. You can also set how long the annotation displays when the video plays—anywhere from 1 to 30 seconds. Yellow markers on the timeline show where annotations exist, and you can jump to them instantly.

  • Can I filter to see only annotations vs general comments?

Absolutely! Click the filter icon at the top of the comments panel to toggle between viewing all comments, only annotated comments (pinned to specific spots), or only general comments (not pinned). This makes it easy to focus on location-specific feedback when reviewing files.

  • Can I resolve or delete comments and annotations?

Yes. File owners, admins, and managers can delete any comment or annotation. Anyone with comment access can mark threads as resolved once feedback has been addressed. Resolved comments are hidden by default but can be viewed by toggling the filter, so you never lose the conversation history.

  • Do annotations work on mobile devices?

Yes. You can view, reply to, and create annotations on both the Stockpress mobile app and mobile web browser. The experience is optimized for touch—tap to place pins, swipe to navigate, and use the jump buttons to move between annotations quickly.
